Flash of cold steel. « Thread Started on Aug 14, 2007, 2:33am »
Vin slowly walked into the deserted room, he wasn't sure if this was a classroom yet or not. There's been some rumors flying around that it was going to be one, which meant he'd have to smuggle his things out of the room. Shutting the door he walked over to the closet, taking a look at all the damage in the room. Gashes in the desks, scratches on the stone, chairs cut in half, it was chaos. And it was all because of him.
How? Well, this was where he practiced his sword fighting, particularly with his Thieves Scimitar (http://bjorn.foxtail.nu/images/simon_scimthieves.jpg) however, he recently started relying on his Tachis (http://www.xyfos.com/images/Dahshin/D-SM221GBK.jpg) he loved the way it fit into his hand, and the lightness of it made his strike all that better. Grabbing his Tachi, he walked to the middle of the room
Using his wand he conjured up the ghost of an Taira Clan Samurai. He assumed his battle stance, his left hand holding tightly onto the blades sheath, while his right was resting on the bottom of the hilt. His body stance was a simple, he stood with his left side more exposed to his opponent, he head turned to directly face him, determination set in his eyes.
The ghost was the first to strike, using a simple downward slash which Vin quickly blocked by bringing up his sword, sliding it somewhat out of the hilt. A light shower of sparks were created as the two metals struck each other. Shoving the enemy's blade away, he crouched a bit, bringing his tachi back further, his right arm fully outstretched, he looked up, calculated his enemy's stance, and struck, taking one step forward he brought his blade out in all it's glory, using a diagonal upward slash, then, at the apex of the slash, he brought the blade level with his neck, took a step forward, using the surprise of his last attack, he struck now with a devastating piercing blow, aimed right for the samurais heart piercing the armor and digging it's way through it.
It was now time to finish the fight, as he pulled his blade out, he spun right taking the blade with his arm he came around again, building up speed and energy as he angled the blade up. He stopped himself from spinning by slamming his right foot down, his arm still moving, he put his full strength in it, the blade broke through the opponents neck guard going on through most of the neck, and then coming out, flinging the ghost ectoplasm off the blade. The ghost faded away, its head flopped backward, it still hung on..but not by much. He slid the steel back into it's guard and made his way to put it away.
It wasn't one of his better fights, as this one didn't last as long, but he just wanted to kill something, not play with it. Placing the weapon back into the cabinet, he shut it, and locked it with a spell and started his way out of the room.

Luna thought that she had heard the sound of metal hitting something hard in one of the classrooms that hadn't been set up yet. She scratched her head and her radish earrings dangled as she peered into the room, where a Ravenclaw, Vincent Gayle, was fighting a ghost. Was it a ghost? Or was it just a fake one? She couldn't exactly tell and she watched Vin curiously as he fought it. When the ghost faded away, it was confirmed that this was a fake ghost. She opened the door all the way and stepped in, "What are you doing?" She asked in her dreamy voice, her pale eyes that were set with a permanant look of surprise rested on the glinting sword in his hand, how did he get it into the school, she was sure they weren't allowed.
Luna had on her usual attire, short pants and some sort of blouse. Today it was a light palish green. She looked around the room at the mess, chairs cut in half and other furniture with blade marks in it, wasn't this going to be a classroom? She thought that it wouldn't be good for him if a teacher caught him ruining school property.

[color=orange]When he heard the voice he spun around quickly, his wand at the read, a spell itching to be released...until he saw who it was. Quite possibly the weirdest person Hogwarts ever had. Luna "Loony" Lovegood. Hesitating a bit, he lowered his arm and let off a sigh of relief. He was sure she wouldn't tell, but how does she just seem to..appear all the time? Like she's everywhere. "Oh, it's just you," he said, glancing back at the cabinet " hey, Luna. What's up?" He looked back at the cabinet once more. "How...how much of this did you see?" noticing for the first time, just how trashed the classroom had become. He should fix that...

Luna's pale orbs examined the look of surprise on Vin's face. She looked at the weapon in his hands and around at all the furniture. She hoped that Umbridge wouldn't find out, if she saw that a student had "vandalised" school property. She smiled at him outlandishly.
"Oh it's just you, hey Luna what's up?
Luna took a while to answer, looking around at the furniture once more. "Hi Vin. I was just looking around and thought I heard someone in here." She looked at the door unintentionally and then turned back toward Vin. "I saw you fighting a ghost, that wasn't a real ghost though, was it?" she asked, tucking a strand of blonde hair behind her ear.
