A Run-In With Peeves -Open- « Thread Started on Sept 1, 2007, 12:42pm »
Draco was making his way through the corridor to Transfiguration, his first class of the day. He was already late. He'd tried to take a shortcut, using one of the secret passages, but had ended up on the wrong floor. There were a few other late students as well, so Draco wasn't all that worried. At least, not until he saw his "favorite" poltergeist zooming down the hall towards him.
Before he could even get a chance to think, however, Peeves was already upon Draco. He snatched Draco's books from him, and took the bag of the student next to Draco, as well, just for fun. He then zoomed off towards the staircase that lead down to the ground floor, all the while cackling. "YOU'LL BE LATE!"
"Peeves!" Draco called, annoyed, "Get back here!"
It was useless, of course. He sighed. He was sure that there was going to be more to this. Hogwarts' resident prankster was generally more creative than this with his... "fun."
"You just wait until I tell my father about this Peeves!" He yelled fiercly in the direciton of the poltergiest. "Give me my things back!" He pushed past the student next to him, not even caring that he had had his stuff knicked as well.

Hearing Peeves cause ruckus, George grinned. It was always good for the poltergiest to cause chaos these days, since Umbridge was supposed to be in charge of him. He chuckled and watched as Draco Malfoy pushed past a first year, knocking them to the ground. He went over to the quivering student and helped him up. Usually he liked pranking first years, but this case was different. "Dont worry about Malfoy, he's a right foul git and doesn't deserve attention. He just does this to get attention, you know? The prat." He didn't know Malfoy too much but knew about his father and Harry, Ron, and Hermione had told him many stories about Draco.

She heard Peeves cackling and a small sigh pressed through her lips. She tucked a strand of pale blonde hair behind her ear and watched as the poltergiest flew off, carrying some students' book bags. She reached up and grabbed them before Peeves knew what she was doing. He blew a raspberry at her and swooped down to her shoes, removing them once more. This was her sixth pair of shoes, she always brought six each year. Well, now she'd be barefoot probably until the end of the year. Luna watched as Peeves left, banging on armor as he went.
She found a first year student with George Weasley, and the first year looked very freaked out. Luna handed him his bag. "There you go. Don't mind Peeves." Her misty voice spoke, rippling the air with it's unique sound.

A blonde haired girl got to Peeves before Draco could reach him and he watched as Loony Lovegood took his books out of Peeves's hands. Peeves didn't seem too bothered and took Loony's shoes. She didn't seem bothered by this at all. As she returned to the other who had their things taken, Draco scowled and walked over to them. "Hand over my books, Loony, you're getting weird all over them." He grabbed his books, a disgusted look on his face. "Now I'll have to buy new copies of these since such vermin has touched them." He glared at her and took off up the flight of stairs, leaving the scene.

She didn't feel any angst from Malfoy's comments. Letting him snatch his books from her hands, she ignored him and leaned down toward the first year. "These must be yours, then," she said mistily, handing him his bag. "You'll learn to get used to Peeves, and the Slytherins as well."She looked at her wristwatch and sighed, "Well, it's time to get to class. See you later," Luna skipped off to her next class, Transfiguration.
