||Rules of Estrangement||
It’s best that you read these carefully. It’s like the law, you will be punished even if you haven’t read them. Ignorance of the rules is NOT an excuse.
1. NO. MARY. SUES. For those of you who don’t understand what a Mary Sue is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Sue
In this talk it means no made up cannons. No "Lucinda Potter" or "Dana Malfoy," or "Kelsey Weasley," or long lost twin, or long lost relative. Be creative! Create your own characters! Don't depend on the book! DO NOT BE A MARY SUE.
2. Power Characters and God Moding are unacceptable. That means, if your character is legally killed, then your character is dead. Period. Also, your character cannot be über powerful. Do not change your character's powers right in the middle of a post. DO NOT. We will boot you from the site.
3. All posts must be in the third person and past tense. That means no “I walk over and punch you in the face.” It just looks silly.
4. Please try to have a decent grasp of the English language. There is a spell check, please use it. Also, do not EVER use chat speak. Short handing words and substituting a numerical value for an actual word is a bad thing. A good example would be “He move 2 da lady an sed “How r u?” ” You look ridiculous.
5. You can have all the sex in role play you want, AS LONG AS you make sure that you forewarn us in the title. Not everyone wants to read about your romps. Please put a tag like [Rated R] or [Private] somewhere in the title. The password to sorting is “donnage”. Also, do not be a Tucker. For those of you who don't know what this means: What is a Tucker? - A Tucker is a role player who tries to magnetically bring girls to his knees so he can have an R-Rated roleplay. If you must have a sexual post, take some time in a few other posts with a character, do not go right into it. It makes you look perverted.
6. At the very bare minimum, your post should be four to five lines long. When someone types up a well thought out paragraph, they really don’t want to get a simple line saying ‘Hi’ or something. NO WAY, NO HOW, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, UNDER NO ASKING IS IT EVER ALRIGHT TO POST ONLY ONE LINE. It's alright to say something like: "Hey, this isn't finished yet... I need to figure out something to say." But do not leave one line . If you do, there will be consequences.
7. No one player can have more than one character PER account. Period.
8. STAY ACTIVE!! It’s really, really annoying when someone’s posting with you and have to wait forever for you to post. We do not want the site to die.
9. If you know you are going to be inactive from the site, let one of the admins know and or post in the leaving column!
10. Please have a REAL picture. Anime isn’t really the greatest thing to use for pictures.
11. Avatars are good!
12. Special Abilities: it must be in your application, and you have to be at least a sixth year to be in the Animagus classroom. Your power also MUST be approved by an admin. If we say no, then please respect our decisions.
13. If you wish for your character to be something other than human such as a werewolf, speaker of Parsaltongue ... etcetera, please mention it in your application before it is posted.
14. Be respect and mindful of other players and admins. We are here to have fun and roleplay, don’t mess with us. Think of it this way: Admins have the power to boot you off of the site, should we feel that you need this. If you can’t play well with others, you can’t play at all. We would also like to make a note that all in-character fights need to stay in-character.
15. Plagiarism is BAD. If you use someone else’s art or written piece, give credit where credit is due. Chelsea and Bai rule the sh-cool. You wouldn’t want someone stealing your art, so don’t steal someone else’s. It’s illegal anyway.
16. Do not advertise your own board in our CBox. We have our own board for that if you want to promote. We ask that you make at least three posts before doing so, though.

2. Reverse to the main page and find "The Great Hall" under the Ground Floor catagory.
3. Enter the Password in the "Sorting Hat Ceremony"
4. Pick an application you want to submit. Fill it out.
5. DO NOT POST IN REPLY TO THE APPLICATION. - Post in a new thread.
6. DO NOT sort yourself. An admin will do that.
7. Wait to be sorted before you post.
